Author: Tarun Lalwani
I bought this book few months and now almost completed with it. Book is really amazing and in every chapter you will find something new to learn.
There are really very excellent tips in each chapter thru which one can start working on QTP more smartly. I really appreciate the effort of the author. When I got the book tarun (author) just came back from Australia. He personally called me on my mobile (not only me, but to all readers) and ask about the book.
My thoughts on the book –
Perquisite is that reader should know the very basics of QTP i.e. Record and playback.
Chapter 1 & 2 are introductions and about using QTP help.
Game starts from chapter 3. Though I have enough experience on QTP, but still after reading this I come to know about some Object Repository tips, which I never experienced earlier. OMG, I came to know my QTP level. Well no doubts, hats off to author. Later chapters covers – DataTables, Actions, Environment Variables, Utility Objects, Checkpoints, Library Files, Descriptive Programming (DP), Debugging, Recovery Scenarios, Working with Web Tables, XML. Automation frameworks and the list is very long. It covers almost everything from basics to advanced QTP. You must see and download the book preview for free.
Whatever mentioned in the book is practical and with sample codes. So I recommended which reading the book, try to understand & implement/ execute the codes on QTP.
